A Coolant Pressure Sensor is used with your ECU for datalogging and for Engine Protection purposes. By monitoring the pressure of the coolant inside the cooling system, Early detection of head gasket integrity issues can be achieved.
Excess Coolant Pressure can be linked to combustion gasses escaping past the head gasket seal and entering the engines cooling system. Detection of cooling system issues can also be detected by a lack of coolant pressure. This could be caused by a faulty radiator cap, leaking cooling system or faulty cooling lines and etc.
